Schuylkill Valley GSP Club
The Schuylkill Valley German Shorthaired Pointer Club was founded by a group of breed enthusiasts in the early 1970’s. The club is centered in Reading PA area but also has members from outside that area and several other states. SVGSPC is a member of the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America (GSPCA) and recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC).
Our club endeavors to provide events that interest members and other owners of German Shorthaired Pointers (GSPs). However, owning a GSP is not a requirement for membership and we have several members who are devoted to other pointing breeds but enjoy the activities SVGPSC offers.

Club Objectives
The Schuylkill Valley German Shorthaired Pointer Club is a non-profit club with the following objectives:
1
To encourage and promote responsible breeding of pure-bred German Shorthaired Pointers.
2
To encourage members to accept the standard of the German Shorthaired Pointer as approved by the parent club and the American Kennel Club.
3
To disseminate knowledge about and promote training of German Shorthaired Pointers and their owners
4
To encourage sportsmanlike competition at all events.
5
To conduct sanctioned and licensed conformation and performance events throughout each year.
Club Meetings
General Membership meetings are held following Hunt test days, with the remainder being done via Zoom. Our annual meeting is at Pheasant Valley Farm following Training Day. This is the meeting when new officers are installed.
