- Q- How did you get involved with German Shorthaired Pointers?
- A- When I was 10 years old, our mixed breed dog passed away and my dad decided on a purebred bird dog for the next one. He wanted a hearty breed who could hunt all day, but also with a short coat that wouldn’t attract burrs. Max was our first GSP and he could do it all. He passed when I was 22 and I’ve had six GSPs since. Although I don’t hunt, the versatility and intelligence of the breed lends itself to being happy alongside active people who give them a job and adequate exercise. They are excellent family dogs and incredible athletes.
