2024 Training Day was held at Pheasant Valley Farm near Robesonia, PA on Saturday, May 18. Despite somewhat rainy & dreary conditions, which are actually very good for the dogs, 17 owners and 15 dogs had a great day! The participants were divided into two groups according to their experience level, entering Juniors or entering Seniors. Each group’s activities began with a discussion and demonstration of what is expected for those tests. The owners & dogs then rotated through three stations. The Junior dogs participated in drills on learning about scent, training recall & retrieving and whoa training. The Senior dogs participated in drills on steadiness, stop to flush and honoring. Following the morning’s activities everyone was invited to a Potluck lunch which was a delicious spread! Participants rated the event highly and look forward to competing in hunt tests in the fall.
