Membership is open to people in good standing with the American Kennel Club and must be approved by the Schuylkill Valley Board of Directors before membership is granted. Owning a German Shorthaired Pointer is not required.

There are four types of memberships:

• Individual Membership is for one person, over age of 18 years
• Household Membership is for two people over age of 18 years who reside at the same address
• Junior Membership is for persons under the age of 18 years. This is a non-voting membership and may be converted to regular membership at age 18
• Honorary Membership is for individuals who have made significant contributions to the sport, breed or club and have been a member for at least 20 years. Honorary Members must be nominated by a member in good standing. The nomination will be voted upon during the annual election.
